Takara Tomy introduces a bold new “real mecha” concept with Transformers Overgear OG-01 Ironhide Action Figure, the first release in the OVERGEAR series. The line is designed from a “fighting weapon” perspective: a realistic vehicle mode, a robot mode packed with fine mechanical detailing, and a wide customization system built around modular equipment, hardpoints, and mission-ready loadouts.
In this setting, Ironhide is portrayed as an Autobot resistance member and the captain of the third unit “RED LIGHTNING”, disguised as a private security company. He transforms into a large pickup truck customized with six wheels, giving the vehicle mode a heavy-duty, tactical silhouette. Both modes are designed to feel grounded and militarized—perfect for collectors who love realistic engineering aesthetics and loadout building.
Customization is the heart of OG-01. Numerous 3mm and 5mm joints are placed across the body in both robot and vehicle modes, allowing you to attach, swap, and reconfigure included accessories. You can build Ironhide for different scenarios—direct assault, reconnaissance, defensive setups, or heavy support—simply by switching equipment and mounting points. This modular approach also supports creative “overbuilt” configurations for a more intense real-mecha look.
Weapons included cover multiple combat styles: a Gatling for suppressive fire, a Submachine Gun for close engagements, a Handgun for sidearm loadouts, and a Kukri Knife for close-quarters utility. Beyond weapons, a large selection of gear parts is included—such as grenades, armor, sensor equipment, and support tools—giving you plenty of ways to tune Ironhide’s profile.
