Estimated Release - November 2026
Takara Tomy continues the launch of its “real mecha” focused line with Transformers Overgear OG-02 Blackout Action Figure, the second release in the OVERGEAR series. OVERGEAR is designed from the viewpoint of a “fighting weapon,” emphasizing a realistic vehicle mode, a robot mode packed with fine mechanical detail, and a customization system built around hardpoints and equipment swaps for mission-based play and display.
OG-02 introduces Blackout, a Decepticon warrior who infiltrates under the front organization “GOA”. In vehicle mode, he transforms into a large attack helicopter equipped with heavy weaponry, giving the figure a powerful military silhouette that perfectly fits the OVERGEAR concept. In robot mode, the design leans into armored mass and weapon-forward presence, making it ideal for tactical dioramas and “realistic mecha” shelf setups alongside OG-01 Ironhide.
Like other releases in the line, both vehicle and robot modes feature numerous 3mm and 5mm joints across the body. These connection points are the foundation of the OVERGEAR play pattern: swap equipment, mount loadouts in different positions, and tailor Blackout for the situation—direct assault, anti-armor pressure, air superiority, or recon support—depending on which gear you attach and where you place it.
The included accessories support a heavy combat theme. Blackout comes with an Assault Rifle and Machine Gun for primary and secondary firepower, plus Missiles and Rockets to build a true “armed helicopter” profile. A fire control radar is also included, adding a technical/mechanical display element that enhances the real-mecha feel and helps create a more believable battlefield loadout. The included tail rotor further supports the helicopter mode presentation.
